Akung (grandfather) started my exploration in home theatre since 1978. Starting with experimenting with true projector with multiple types of screen, moving on to audio reproduction which then followed with audio replication from tape-to-tape copying process all the way to CD -> PCM Master Tape -> Remastering (using various equipments; thanks to Ir. Tjandra Ghozali and his SHM Project, and Robert Patilaya in guiding me in building the all-analog audio processors) I became an avid audio video reproduction enthusiast.
Coupled with photography background taught by Antonius Lo and cinematography analyses, my involvement in the audio video world became complete from creation, mastering, re-mastering, all the way through the faithful reproduction of both aspects.
Finally, in 2009 I've finished the physical building of my first dedicated home theatre.
This is an on-going project that will evolve as the technology evolves.
Of course, this theatre could have not exist without one person who started it all... Akung Hadi Soerjanto. May you rest in peace.
David Susilo also thanks the following people for his major milestones in his audio video exploration:
(in chronological order)
Ir. Tjandra Ghozali (SHM Project, AUVI Magazine)
John Dahl (THX)
Joel Silver (ISF)
